بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

2. إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ۝١

   EnglishWhen the sky breaks apart

3. وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ۝٢

   EnglishAnd when the stars fall, scattering,

4. وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ۝٣

   EnglishAnd when the seas are erupted

5. وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ۝٤

   EnglishAnd when the [contents of] graves are scattered,

6. عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ۝٥

   EnglishA soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

   Germanwird eine (jede) Seele erfahren, was sie vorausgeschickt und zurückgestellt hat.

7. يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ۝٦

   EnglishO mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

   GermanO Mensch, was hat dich hinsichtlich deines edelmütigen Herrn getäuscht,

8. ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ۝٧

   EnglishWho created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

   GermanDer dich erschaffen und da(bei) zurechtgeformt und wohlgebildet gemacht hat.

9. فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ۝٨

   EnglishIn whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

   Germanund dich, in welcher Gestalt Er wollte, zusammengefügt hat?

10. كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ۝٩

    EnglishNo! But you deny the Recompense.

    GermanKeineswegs! Vielmehr erklärt ihr das Gericht für Lüge.

11. وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ۝١٠

    EnglishAnd indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

12. كِرَامًا كَٰتِبِينَ۝١١

    EnglishNoble and recording;

    Germanedle, die (alles) aufschreiben

13. يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ۝١٢

    EnglishThey know whatever you do.

    Germanund die wissen, was ihr tut.

14. إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ۝١٣

    EnglishIndeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,

    GermanDie Frommen werden wahrlich in Wonne sein.

15. وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ۝١٤

    EnglishAnd indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

    GermanUnd die Sittenlosen werden wahrlich in einem Höllenbrand sein,

16. يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ۝١٥

    EnglishThey will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

    Germandem sie am Tag des Gerichts ausgesetzt werden

17. وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ۝١٦

    EnglishAnd never therefrom will they be absent.

18. وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ۝١٧

    EnglishAnd what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

19. ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ۝١٨

    EnglishThen, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

20. يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ۝١٩

    EnglishIt is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.

    GermanAm Tag, da keine Seele für eine (andere) Seele etwas (auszurichten) vermag; und der Befehl wird an jenem Tag Allah (allein) zustehen.
