What are mutashabihat?

Mutashabihat are ayat whose wording is the same or differs in only a few words, such as 2:58 and 7:161. They are easily mixed up when memorizing.

The groups here are precomputed from the Tanzil text: identical ayat, ayat with differing words, shared passages, reordered wording and recurring formulas. Each group can be compared word by word, with the differences marked.

The quiz checks whether you can tell the passages apart. In the reader, a badge on each ayah shows how many similar ayat there are.

Missing diacritics and alef, hamza, ya and ta-marbuta variants are tolerated.
