Surah 14 Ibrahim, ayah 18 (14:18)

Ayah 14:18

مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ۝١٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilMathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihim aAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehu fee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimma kasaboo AAala shayin thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu

English · Saheeh InternationalThe example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.

German · Bubenheim & Elyas(Dies ist) das Gleichnis derjenigen, die ihren Herrn verleugnen: Ihre Werke sind wie Asche, auf die der Wind an einem stürmischen Tag heftig bläst. Sie haben keine Macht über etwas von dem, was sie erworben haben. Das ist wirklich der tiefe Irrtum.
