Surah 17 Al-Israa, ayah 33 (17:33)

Ayah 17:33

وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَن قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا فَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا لِوَلِيِّهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا فَلَا يُسْرِف فِّى ٱلْقَتْلِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مَنصُورًا۝٣٣

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWala taqtuloo alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi waman qutila mathlooman faqad jaAAalna liwaliyyihi sultanan fala yusrif fee alqatli innahu kana mansooran

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law].

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd tötet nicht die Seele, die Allah verboten hat (zu töten), außer aus einem rechtmäßigen Grund. Wer ungerechterweise getötet wird, dessen nächstem Verwandten haben Wir Ermächtigung erteilt (, Recht einzufordern); doch soll er nicht maßlos im Töten sein, denn ihm wird gewiß geholfen.
