Surah 2 Al-Baqara, ayah 167 (2:167)

Ayah 2:167

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُوا۟ مِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ۝١٦٧

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaqala allatheena ittabaAAoo law anna lana karratan fanatabarraa minhum kama tabarraoo minna kathalika yureehimu Allahu aAAmalahum hasaratin AAalayhim wama hum bikharijeena mina alnnari

English · Saheeh InternationalThose who followed will say, "If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd diejenigen, die Gefolgschaft geleistet haben, sagen: "Hätten wir doch eine (Möglichkeit zur) Wiederholung, dann würden wir uns von ihnen lossagen, so wie sie sich von uns losgesagt haben." So wird Allah ihnen ihre Werke zeigen, als gramvolle Reue für sie. Und sie werden aus dem (Höllen)feuer nicht herauskommen.
