Surah 2 Al-Baqara, ayah 49 (2:49)

Ayah 2:49

وَإِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ۝٤٩

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaith najjaynakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi yuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd (gedenkt,) als Wir euch von den Leuten Fir'auns erretteten, die euch eine böse Qual auferlegten, indem sie eure Söhne allesamt abschlachteten und (nur) eure Frauen am Leben ließen. Darin war für euch eine gewaltige Prüfung von eurem Herrn.
