Surah 2 Al-Baqara, ayah 55 (2:55)

Ayah 2:55

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ۝٥٥

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tanthuroona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd als ihr sagtet: "O Musa, wir werden dir nicht eher glauben, bis wir Allah unverhüllt sehen!" Da überkam euch der Donnerschlag, während ihr zuschautet.
