Surah 23 Al-Muminoon, ayah 76 (23:76)

Ayah 23:76

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ۝٧٦

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWalaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

German · Bubenheim & ElyasWir haben sie ja mit der Strafe ergriffen. Aber weder unterwarfen sie sich ihrem Herrn noch flehten sie demütig.
