Surah 25 Al-Furqaan, ayah 18 (25:18)

Ayah 25:18

قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًا۝١٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilQaloo subhanaka ma kana yanbaghee lana an nattakhitha min doonika min awliyaa walakin mattaAAtahum waabaahum hatta nasoo alththikra wakanoo qawman booran

English · Saheeh InternationalThey will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."

German · Bubenheim & ElyasSie werden sagen: "Preis sei Dir! Es ziemte uns nicht, uns anstatt Deiner (andere) Sc,hutzherren zu nehmen. Aber Du ließt sie und ihre Väter genießen, bis sie die Ermahnung vergaßen und zu einem Volk des Niedergangs wurden."
