Surah 39 Az-Zumar, ayah 42 (39:42)

Ayah 39:42

ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ۝٤٢

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilAllahu yatawaffa alanfusa heena mawtiha waallatee lam tamut fee manamiha fayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilu alokhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona

English · Saheeh InternationalAllah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasAllah beruft die Seelen zur Zeit ihres Todes ab und auch diejenigen, die nicht gestorben sind, während ihres Schlafes'. Er hält die eine, für die Er den Tod beschlossen hat, zurück und gibt die andere auf eine festgesetzte Frist frei. Darin sind wahrlich Zeichen für Leute, die nachdenken.
