Surah 4 An-Nisaa, ayah 18 (4:18)

Ayah 4:18

وَلَيْسَتِ ٱلتَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ إِنِّى تُبْتُ ٱلْـَٰٔنَ وَلَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا۝١٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWalaysati alttawbatu lillatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati hatta itha hadara ahadahumu almawtu qala innee tubtu alana wala allatheena yamootoona wahum kuffarun olaika aAAtadna lahum AAathaban aleeman

English · Saheeh InternationalBut repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," or of those who die while they are disbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful punishment.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasNicht aber ist die Annahme der Reue für diejenigen, die böse Taten begehen, bis daß, wenn sich bei einem von ihnen der Tod einstellt, er sagt: "Jetzt bereue ich", und auch nicht für diejenigen, die als Ungläubige sterben. Für jene haben Wir schmerzhafte Strafe bereitet.
