Surah 40 Al-Ghaafir, ayah 22 (40:22)

Ayah 40:22

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَكَفَرُوا۟ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِىٌّ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ۝٢٢

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilThalika biannahum kanat tateehim rusuluhum bialbayyinati fakafaroo faakhathahumu Allahu innahu qawiyyun shadeedu alAAiqabi

English · Saheeh InternationalThat was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allah seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasDies, weil ihre Gesandten immer wieder mit den klaren Beweisen zu ihnen kamen, sie aber ungläubig blieben. So ergriff sie Allah, denn Er ist Stark und streng im Bestrafen.
