Surah 40 Al-Ghaafir, ayah 83 (40:83)

Ayah 40:83

فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ۝٨٣

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilFalamma jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati farihoo bima AAindahum mina alAAilmi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasAls nun ihre Gesandten zu ihnen mit den klaren Beweisen kamen, waren sie froh über das Wissen, das sie besaßen, und es umschloß sie das, worüber sie sich lustig zu machen pflegten.
