Surah 5 Al-Maaida, ayah 108 (5:108)

Ayah 5:108

ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓا۟ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَٰنٌۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ۝١٠٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilThalika adna an yatoo bialshshahadati AAala wajhiha aw yakhafoo an turadda aymanun baAAda aymanihim waittaqoo Allaha waismaAAoo waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena

English · Saheeh InternationalThat is more likely that they will give testimony according to its [true] objective, or [at least] they would fear that [other] oaths might be taken after their oaths. And fear Allah and listen; and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasDas ist eher geeignet, daß sie das Zeugnis, wie es sein soll, ablegen oder sie befürchten (müssen), daß nach ihren Eiden wieder (andere) Eide (geschworen) werden. Und fürchtet Allah und hört! Allah leitet das Volk der Frevler nicht recht.
