Surah 59 Al-Hashr, ayah 2 (59:2)

Ayah 59:2

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلْحَشْرِ مَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن يَخْرُجُوا۟ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُونُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوا۟ وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعْبَ يُخْرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُم بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْدِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَٱعْتَبِرُوا۟ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ۝٢

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilHuwa allathee akhraja allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi min diyarihim liawwali alhashri ma thanantum an yakhrujoo wathannoo annahum maniAAatuhum husoonuhum mina Allahi faatahumu Allahu min haythu lam yahtasiboo waqathafa fee quloobihimu alrruAAba yukhriboona buyootahum biaydeehim waaydee almumineena faiAAtabiroo ya olee alabsari

English · Saheeh InternationalIt is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasEr ist es, Der diejenigen von den Leuten der Schrift, die ungläubig sind, aus ihren Wohnstätten zur ersten Versammlung vertrieben hat. Ihr habt nicht geglaubt, daß sie fortziehen würden; und sie meinten, daß ihre Festungen sie vor Allah schützten. Da kam Allah über sie, von wo sie nicht (damit) rechneten, und jagte in ihre Herzen Schrecken, so daß sie ihre Häuser mit ihren (eigenen) Händen und den Händen der Gläubigen zerstörten. Darum zieht die Lehre daraus, o die ihr Einsicht besitzt.
