Surah 7 Al-A'raaf, ayah 142 (7:142)

Ayah 7:142

وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ۝١٤٢

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWawaAAadna moosa thalatheena laylatan waatmamnaha biAAashrin fatamma meeqatu rabbihi arbaAAeena laylatan waqala moosa liakheehi haroona okhlufnee fee qawmee waaslih wala tattabiAA sabeela almufsideena

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them], and do not follow the way of the corrupters."

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd Wir gaben Musa eine Verabredung auf dreißig Nächte und machten sie mit (weiteren) zehn voll. So vervollständigte sich die festgesetzte Zahl seines Herrn auf vierzig Nächte. Und Musa sagte zu seinem Bruder Harun: "Nimm meine Stelle bei meinem Volk ein, sorge für Ordnung und folge nicht dem Weg der Unheilstifter!"
