Surah 7 Al-A'raaf, ayah 148 (7:148)

Ayah 7:148

وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ۝١٤٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd the people of Moses made, after [his departure], from their ornaments a calf - an image having a lowing sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to a way? They took it [for worship], and they were wrongdoers.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd das Volk Musas nahm sich, nachdem er (weggegangen) war, aus ihren Schmucksachen (verfertigt) ein Kalb als Leib, der blökte. Sahen sie denn nicht, daß es nicht zu ihnen spricht und sie nicht den rechten Weg leitet? Sie nahmen es sich (als Götzen) und waren ungerecht.
