Surah 7 Al-A'raaf, ayah 168 (7:168)

Ayah 7:168

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ۝١٦٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaqattaAAnahum fee alardi omaman minhumu alssalihoona waminhum doona thalika wabalawnahum bialhasanati waalssayyiati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd Wir zerteilten sie auf der Erde in Gemeinschaften. Unter ihnen gab es Rechtschaffene und solche, die dies nicht waren. Und Wir prüften sie mit Gutem und Bösem, auf daß sie umkehren mögen.
