Surah 8 Al-Anfaal, ayah 17 (8:17)

Ayah 8:17

فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَمَىٰ وَلِيُبْلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلَآءً حَسَنًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ۝١٧

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilFalam taqtuloohum walakinna Allaha qatalahum wama ramayta ith ramayta walakinna Allaha rama waliyubliya almumineena minhu balaan hasanan inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasNicht ihr habt sie getötet, sondern Allah hat sie getötet. Und nicht du hast geworfen, als du geworfen hast, sondern Allah hat geworfen, und damit Er die Gläubigen einer schönen Prüfung von Ihm unterziehe. Gewiß, Allah ist Allhörend und Allwissend.
