Surah 8 Al-Anfaal, ayah 31 (8:31)

Ayah 8:31

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالُوا۟ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَٰذَآ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٣١

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna qaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulna mithla hatha in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd wenn ihnen Unsere Zeichen verlesen werden, sagen sie: "Wir haben es bereits gehört. Wenn wir wollten, könnten wir fürwahr etwas Gleichartiges sagen. Das sind nur Fabeln der Früheren."
