Ayah 8:38

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِن يَنتَهُوا۟ يُغْفَرْ لَهُم مَّا قَدْ سَلَفَ وَإِن يَعُودُوا۟ فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٣٨

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilQul lillatheena kafaroo in yantahoo yughfar lahum ma qad salafa wain yaAAoodoo faqad madat sunnatu alawwaleena

English · Saheeh InternationalSay to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasSag zu denen, die ungläubig sind: Wenn sie aufhören, wird ihnen vergeben, was bereits vergangen ist. Wenn sie aber (dazu) zurückkehren, - so hat sich schon die Gesetzmäßigkeit an den Früheren vollzogen.
