Surah 9 At-Tawba, ayah 109 (9:109)

Ayah 9:109

أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ تَقْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٍ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَٱنْهَارَ بِهِۦ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ۝١٠٩

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilAfaman assasa bunyanahu AAala taqwa mina Allahi waridwanin khayrun am man assasa bunyanahu AAala shafa jurufin harin fainhara bihi fee nari jahannama waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

English · Saheeh InternationalThen is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasIst derjenige, der seinen Bau auf Furcht vor Allah und (Sein) Wohlgefallen gegründet hat, besser oder der, der seinen Bau auf den Rand eines abstürzenden Hanges gegründet hat, so daß er mit ihm ins Feuer der Hölle abstürzt? Und Allah leitet das ungerechte Volk nicht recht.
