Surah 9 At-Tawba, ayah 85 (9:85)

Ayah 9:85

وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ۝٨٥

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWala tuAAjibka amwaluhum waawladuhum innama yureedu Allahu an yuAAaththibahum biha fee alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd let not their wealth and their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through them in this world and that their souls should depart [at death] while they are disbelievers.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasIhr Besitz und ihre Kinder sollen dir nicht gefallen. Allah will sie ja nur im Diesseits damit strafen, und (daß) ihre Seelen (im Tod) dahingehen, während sie ungläubig sind.
