Surah 7 Al-A'raaf, ayah 163 (7:163)

Ayah 7:163

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ۝١٦٣

Arabic transliteration · Source: TanzilWaisalhum AAani alqaryati allatee kanat hadirata albahri ith yaAAdoona fee alssabti ith tateehim heetanuhum yawma sabtihim shurraAAan wayawma la yasbitoona la tateehim kathalika nabloohum bima kanoo yafsuqoona

English · Saheeh InternationalAnd ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.

German · Bubenheim & ElyasUnd frag sie nach der Stadt, die am Meer lag, als sie den Sabbat übertraten, als ihre Fische zu ihnen an ihrem Sabbat sichtbar (geschwommen) kamen, aber an dem Tag, an dem sie nicht Sabbat hielten, nicht zu ihnen kamen. So prüfen Wir sie dafür, daß sie zu freveln pflegten.
